San Francisco, CA
This newly opened Hawaiian inspired restaurant received glowing reviews from across all boards, making it one of the year's best-reviewed newcomers. We had to give it a try.
Reservation is made usually a month in advance but we decided to stand in line when it opened at 5pm to try our luck. The restaurant usually offers 1/3 of its seating to drop-ins.

Altamont Beer Works "Hella Lite"
Session IPA
Super light and refreshing with a tint of sweetness
~
duck liver toast, jalapeno, pickled pineapple
It tasted a bit like foie gras - smooth and rich, topped with sweet pineapple. Excellent starter.
~
tuna belly misoyaki, cherry tomatoes, watermelon radish, tentsuyu
The tuna belly was divine! The broth was amazing with a radish kick at the end.
~
grilled shortrib, escargot, bone marrow, mushrooms, spring onions, fresh horseradish
The escargot was baked with the bone marrow - innovative! The shortrib was very tender.
Though we were warned by our server that this entree was the smallest serving out of all, but it satisfied our tummy all the way!
~
beef tongue, kimchi, cucumber, poppy seed steam bun
~
baked hawaii, caramelized pineapple ice cream, vanilla chiffon
light, sweet and satisfying
love the pineapple ice-cream in the middle
