Banana Leaf

Milpitas, CA

A popular lunch spot for the locals for Singaporean/Malaysian food.

Just as we got seated, we were presented with complimentary soup.  A twist of sweet and sour soup.

Liang's Kitchen (梁媽媽家眷村料理)

Milpitas, CA

A well known Taiwanese village cuisine by Mrs. Anne Liang (梁媽媽) that started in So. California has been hitting the bay area in a storm.  This joint has a reputation for its beef noodle soup and the constant mob of people lining up outside.

Beef Soup Noodle

The flavor of the beef broth was rich and the noodle was made from scratch.

Dan Dan noodle with sesame and peanut sauce

This bowl was not what I expected.  Usual dan dan noodle is a chewy yellow-ish dried noodle however, this one is more soupy with soft rice noodle.  Regardless, it was good with a nutty flavor kick to it.

Niu Rou Chuan - the Beef Roll

This was crispy and amazingly good even after we all finish slurping up a bowl of noodles.
