Financial District, San Francisco
A very stylish modern steakhouse in the city with a contemporary ambiance. The menu is heavily Japanese influenced.

Hamachi shooters
avocado, ginger, yuzu tobiko, ponzu
This is 5A5's most popular starter in the house. The presentation was clever. Taken as a shot, this asian style cerviche was amazing. The sesame and roe seed that was added offered a nice crunch as you take the shot, the ponzu sauce definitely complimented the fish with a citrus soy sauce taste, The hot pepper gave a nice kick at the end.

Seared foie gras
pinot poached asian pear, ricotta cannoli, balsamic

A side of Shrooms: maitake, golden enokitake, eryngii, honshimeji, sherry wine, garlic
~
Filet Mignon
boursin cheese fondue, demi glace
~
Bone in Rib Eye
roasted red onion, aged balsamic demi glace
Very large cuts with minimal fat.

Australian F1 NY
50% wagyu - 50% holstein toybox tomatoes
It was well-executed. Medium rare is how I always want my steak and as you can see how tender and juicy my meat was. Although, I couldn't tell whether it was the wagyu or the holstein part working, but each bite melted like butter in my mouth.
