Auberge de la Figuière Restaurant
Fontaine de Vaucluse, France
This 19th century building with a charming and cute restaurant is located right on the lane near the river.
Full of Provencal traditional spirit and charm, we felt like we were walking into an enchanted garden.
The view from our dining table.
Outdoor garden terrace seating
Mabré de Foie gras de Canard aux figues
Duck foie gras, served with fig preserves - with a supplement
The foie gras de canard was amazing. The preserved fig was actually presented inside as part of the pate instead of serving as an accompaniment.

La Bavette - 200 gram flank steak
with Echalote (shallots)
Scallop potato on the side. Crispy and soft.
Steak was served hot and juicy.

Dorade entière en aïoli
Whole sea bream served with vegetables with agarlic sauce
deep fried croutons with fresh tomatoes
Tartar sauce for dipping
~
Crème brûlée à la lavande, tarte maison

This was a wonderful choice of restaurant in this little Provencal town of Fontaine de Vaucluse. Even though this charming restaurant is not right by the river like the rest of the "tourist trap", this was a true gem tucked in a corner. The down-side was that because it was so popular, the service was compromised. With only two waiters serving the whole entire fully occupied restaurant, it took us some time to settle our bill.
