Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Due to its prime location (opposite the Central Station), Smits Koffiehuis is a popular dining place. While visiting, we met L's cousin at the station who brought us to this restaurant for brunch. Serving partial authentic dutch dishes, this tourist favorite joint was built on wood and situated right by the canal.

Peasoup de luxe with dark meat, extra sausage and extra meat
According to L's cousin, this is common dutch soup, often eaten as a street food. It is a thick stew of green split peas with slices of rookworst, onions, leeks, carrots and potato. It was smooth and not too chunky. Perfect to indulge on a cold winter day.
