Barracuda

Burlingame, CA

We walked past by this establishment before and it looked really trendy and posh from the outside.  We decided to give it a try on a radom Friday night.

The Great

“Where’s the beef?” Roll
yaki niku beef, lettuce, cucumber,  papaya and
spicy sauce

It was the name that got my attention. However in reality, the beef tasted horrible with a slight gamy taste.

Sukiyaki pot with beef or chicken
tofu, mushroom, onions and yam noodles

Usually you can never go wrong with a suikiyaki, but the beef that was presented in the claypot was tough and hard, all mashed into one big chunk instead of thinly sliced.  Service was sparse.  It was difficult to get our waitress attention and we had to request for a bowl of rice which comes along with the sukiyaki as stated on the menu.

We had high hopes for this restaurant mainly because of its raving reviews.    However to our disappointment it was below our expectation.
