Staroceske Trdlo
Prague, Czech Republic

A chewy cinnamon sugar-dusted pastry called “Staroceske Trdlo.”  The name of this medieval treat means “old bohemian muff.”

A thin coil of dough is wrapped around a metal cylinder that rotates over an open flame.

The hot pastry is covered in cinnamon sugar with a crunchy exterior. Best eaten on a cold snowy day.  Sold at any street stalls  in and around Old Town Square and the Castle area.
